Is Your San Antonio Home's Electrical Panel Telling You Something?

Older panels weren't built for today's power demands. Here are the warning signs that your panel may need attention and ignoring them can be a fire hazard.

Breakers Keep Tripping

If you're constantly resetting breakers, your panel isn't handling the load. That's a sign it's time to upgrade not just reset.

Flickering or Dimming Lights

Lights that flicker or dim when appliances run indicate your panel can't supply stable power. That stresses your electronics and wiring.

Warm or Buzzing Panel

A panel that's warm to the touch or makes buzzing sounds is a potential fire hazard. Don't wait on this one call us immediately.

Federal Pacific or Zinsco Brand

These older panel brands are known safety hazards breakers that don't trip under overload conditions. They should be replaced.

Adding an EV Charger

A Level 2 EV charger requires a dedicated 50A circuit. If your panel doesn't have capacity, an upgrade is needed first.

Home Addition or Renovation

Adding a room, garage, or major appliance? Your original 100A panel may not be enough. A 200A upgrade gives you room to grow.

Common Questions

How long does a panel upgrade take?

Most panel upgrades are completed in a single day usually 4 8 hours. We coordinate with CPS Energy for the brief power shutoff needed during the swap.

Will my power be off the whole time?

Your power will be off during the panel swap typically 2 4 hours of the total job time. We let you know the schedule in advance so you can plan around it.

Do I need to be home?

Yes, we ask that someone 18+ be home during the job and available for the utility coordination. The city inspector may also need access.

What size panel do I need?

Most homes are best served by a 200A panel it handles current loads and leaves room for growth (EV chargers, additions, heat pumps). We'll assess your needs and recommend the right size.

Will this increase my home's value?

Yes a modern, correctly-sized panel is a selling point. Buyers and inspectors look for updated electrical, and an old or under-sized panel can kill a real estate deal.
